(DS) Network Systems Section《2024.4.1》 On April 1, 2024, I joined the Network Systems Section of the Division of Systems Research. Previously, I have been with the Department of Information and Communication Engineering, Graduate School of Engineering, working on information security, focusing on the design and security analysis of cryptographic techniques. At IMaSS, to improve the reliability of various network systems, I plan to work on lightweight cryptography for energy conservation, security technology suitable for Beyond 5G/6G systems, and security evaluation in a quantum setting, and I would like to strengthen industry-academia collaboration. I look forward to working with you. |

(AMTC) X-Ray Spectroscopy Section《2024.4.1》 I was appointed as a professor at Advance Measurement Technology Center on April 1st,2004. I would like to contribute the Institute of Materials and Systems for Sustainability by creating sophisticated technologies of ultrafast microscopy using a unique electron source, which is able to capture nano-dynamics in the energy-saving materials and devices. I am looking forward to working with you all to realize a sustainable society. |

(DM) Materials Design Section《2024.4.1》 As of April 1st, 2024, I have been appointed as a Professor in the Material Design Section, Division of Materials Research, IMaSS. I have been working on energy conversion and storage devices such as fuel cells, electrolysis cells and secondary batteries at IMRAM, Tohoku University. I will work on the development of energy conversion and storage devices as well as related energy materials based on defect engineering strategy. |

(CIRFE) Device Innovation Section《2024.4.1》 From April 1, 2024, I have been assigned as a professor at IMaSS. With a focus on crystal growth of nitride semiconductors, I have been working in a wide range of fields, such as improvement of crystal growth technology, development of new structures, crystal and device measurement, and development of device process technology, to promote research for the creation of next-generation technologies. I would like to support the development of this field and IMaSS in cooperation with professors from various fields, industry, and students, and I will also put my efforts into the education of students. |

Toyota Advanced Power Electronics Funded Research Division《2024.4.1》 I was appointed as a designated professor in Toyota advanced power electronics funded research division on April 1, 2024. Starting with practical research work on motors and generators and their analysis technologies, I had been involved in both R&D and business development at Hitachi group regarding motor drive, power electronics, transmission & distribution technologies, and their applications. Utilizing these experiences, I’d like to contribute to the development of advanced power electronics applications employing wide bandgap power semiconductor devices. Thank you. |

(DS) Conversion Systems Section《2024.4.1》 I joined the Propulsion Energy Systems Engineering (Kasahara Laboratory) of Conversion Systems Department System Creation Division on April 1, 2024. I have been involved in the research, design, and development of liquid rocket engines and the actual operation of rockets at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries for over 30 years. In our laboratory, I will utilize my experiences to advance the practical application of a new space propulsion systems that utilizes detonation phenomenon. I envision a Near-future space transportation network and aim to build a highly efficient and convenient space propulsion system. I look forward to working with you. |

(CIRFE) Device Innovation Section《2024.4.1》 I joined the Center for Integrated Research of Future Electronics on April 1, 2024. I have studied the growth and characterization of semiconductor crystals and the application of informatics technology such as machine learning and optimization to crystal engineering. Recently, I have been interested in combining the domain knowledge of researchers and engineers with data science and applying it to actual research and development. With informatics as the keyword, I would like to collaborate with everyone at IMaSS actively. I look forward to working with you all. |

UJ-Crystal ultra-high quality SiC IA Collaborative Chair《2024.1.1》 I have recently joined the UJ-Crystal ultra-high quality SiC IA Collaborative Chair. Previously, I worked on developing crystal growth technology and observation equipment at universities and companies. We aim to achieve the early societal implementation of ultra-high-quality SiC single-crystal substrates using SiC solution growth and machine learning technologies. We hope to promote further energy conservation and contribute to the realization of a low-carbon society by applying our SiC substrates in electric vehicles and smart grids. |

MITSUBISHI CHEMICAL GaN Substrate Devices Industry-Academia Collaborative Chair《2024.4.1》 I joined the MITSUBISHI CHEMICAL GaN Substrate Devices Industry-Academia Collaborative Chair on April 1, 2024. I have been engaged in evaluation of crystallinity and properties of GaN grown crystals at Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation. In this laboratory, I would like to investigate the correlation between GaN substrates and device characteristics in cooperation with IMaSS researchers, then contribute to providing high-quality, large-diameter, and low-cost GaN substrates conducive to the realization and widespread use of high-performance power devices. (DS) Circulation Systems Section《2024.4.1》 I joined the Circulation Systems Section of the Division of Systems Research on April 1, 2024. I have been studying photocatalytic and electrocatalytic water splitting and carbon dioxide conversion reactions with particular focus on understanding the reaction mechanisms, in order to utilize the renewable energy sources. In this research division, I would like to contribute to the realization of sustainable material circulation and a low-carbon society through expanding the research to the development of systems for practical application. (DS) Conversion Systems Section《2024.1.1》 From January 1st, 2024, I joined the Conversion System Division of the IMaSS as a Designated Assistant Professor. I have researched combustion mechanisms of energetic ionic liquids and its applications on space propulsion engineering. In this Laboratory, I will engage in a project of research and development for a space propulsion system using detonation phenomena of liquid propellants, and also would like to contribute a progress of space engineering utilization of high-energy liquids. Energy Systems (Chubu Electric Power) Funded Research Division《2024.4.1》 I joined the Energy Systems (Chubu Electric Power) Funded Research Division as a designated assistant professor on April 1, 2024. Previously, I have been conducting research on the development of the power flow control method for a Multi-terminal High Voltage Direct Current (MTDC) system contributing to the integration of the renewable energy sources. My future research plans include the development of the cooperative control of the offshore wind turbines and the MTDC system, and the stabilization control method of the AC grid by the converters.
