Professor Jiro Kasahara of Institute of Materials and Systems for Sustainability(IMaSS) received the \"Japan Shock Wave Research Association Glass Memorial Lecture Award\" from the Japan Shock Wave Research Association, a pioneer in the study of shock waves (supersonic waves propagating in gases caused by explosions, etc.)!<\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Regarding Glass Memorial Lecture Award <\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span>

Glass Memorial Lecture award is named after the late Doctor Glass (University of Toronto), the pioneer in the Shock Wave research. It is presented annually to one internationally recognized domestic or foreign researcher who has made a significant contribution to the field.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Professor Kasahara was awarded the prize this time by Shock Wave Research Society of Japan because his research was deemed worthy of the prize after a strict screening process both in light of his \"Achievements in Shock Wave Research\" and \"Contributions to Shock Wave Research in Japan.\"<\/span><\/p>\r\n

When the award was presented, a special lecture was given in the 2021st Shock Wave Symposium, as follows.<\/span><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
