IMaSS has been accredited as "Joint Usage / Research Center of Materials and Systems for Innovative Energy-saving Technologies."

Institute of Materials and Systems for Sustainability (IMaSS) has recently been accredited by MEXT as "Joint Usage / Research Center of Materials and Systems for Innovative Energy-saving Technologies" for 6 years starting from FY 2016.
The Joint Usage / Research Center system enables researchers to share the latest and large-scale research facilities and a wide variety of academic resources owned or controlled by universities nationwide and to pursue their joint research activities. It is expected that it enhances and promotes academic research infrastructure and developments in Japan.
Our center is established in order to develop innovative energy-saving technologies (creation, conversion, storage, and transmission of energy; upgrading and ultra-efficiency of consumption). By providing joint facility usage and research environment we support domestic and global academic communities and encourage them to undertake integrated research from elemental technologies for advanced materials and devices to system technologies for real world applications toward realizing a sustainable society.
