April 2004 Established EcoTopia Science Institute
(Established through the restructuring and integration of the following research centers.)
・Center for Integrated Research in Science and Engineering (1995 reorganization of the Synthetic Crystal Research Laboratory founded in 1963)
・Research Center for Advanced Energy Conversion (Founded in 1982 as the Research Center for Resource and Energy Conservation, changed to the Research Center for Advanced Energy Conversion in 1992, and reorganized in 2002)
・Research Center for Advanced Waste and Emission Management (Founded in 1997)
・Research Center for Nuclear Materials Recycle (Founded in 2001)
・Added specialized instructors in all liberal arts and science departments
April 2005 Established Nagoya University EcoTopia Science Institute as a research institute for internal measures
April 2006 Reorganized Nagoya University EcoTopia Science Institute as an institute attached to a national university
April 2007 Integrated Nagoya University Research Facility for Advanced Science and Technology (founded in 1988)
July 2007 Established Nagoya University Center for Interdisciplinary Studies on Resource Recovery and Refinery in Asia
April 2009 Abolished Nagoya University Center for Information Media Studies (founded in 1998)
March 2012 Abolished Nagoya University Center for Interdisciplinary Studies on Resource Recovery and Refinery in Asia
April 2015 Established Nagoya University Advanced Measurement Technology Center
October 2015 Reorganized to Nagoya University Institute of Materials and Systems for Sustainability (IMaSS)
October 2015 Established Nagoya University Center for Integrated Research of Future Electronics (CIRFE)
